  4. Read the Nasha Shkola Mission and Vision
    Mission: Nasha Shkola aspires to be a multi-cultural charter school committed to exceptional education in all areas of academic inquiry with an emphasis on Russian Language and Culture, providing structured and responsive learning environment based upon educational best practices for all students and their families.
    Vision: To be an academically rigorous school preparing students for continued success as motivated learners and global citizens.
  5. Reports
    1. Executive Director Report
      • Currently enrollment: 107 students
      • The Fall NWEA, K-3 reading benchmarking, and EL screening tests have been completed.
      • The first Child Find meeting was held on Tuesday, October 17th. Students have been identified for interventions.
      • A contract with Science from Scientists has been signed for the whole school year.
        • Provides Science lessons for students in grades 3 and up.
        • The school was able to secure a grant to pay for half of the fee
        • Professional Development Day was held on September 29th.
          • Discussions were held about the comprehensive needs assessment.
          • Teachers and staff reflected on the proficiency data from last year and discussed how it applies to meeting student needs this year
      • NS has 61 EL students which makes up 56% of the student population.
      • A new part-time ELL para position has been created to support our ELL student needs
      • A part-time “Russian as a Foreign Language” teacher has been hired.
      • Lease Aid application has been submitted to MDE
      • NS applied for a Brooklyn Park food license.
      • Documentation has been submitted for the MDE food audit. Two interviews have been held. There will be an in-school inspection on October 24th.
      • NS has the “CP” status – free lunch for the next four years and additional benefits from the status i.e. reduced field trip costs.
      • Fall parent-teacher conferences were held on Friday, October 13th. Conferences were offered online and in-person. Good attendance overall
    2. Financial Report
      • Fund 01
        • As of September 30, 2023 the school has received in Fund 01 a total of $309,164 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 20% of its current budgeted amount.
        • As of September 30, 2023 the school has expended in Fund 01 $285,151 which is 18% of its current budgeted expense.
        • NS ended September 2023 with a current fiscal year to date Fund 01 positive balance (revenues received less expenditures incurred) of $24,012.
      • Fund 02
        • As of September 30, 2023 the school has received in Fund 02 a total of $2,112 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 3% of its current budgeted amount.
        • As of September 30, 2023 the school has expended in Fund 02 $6,817 which is 11% of its current budgeted expense.
        • NS ended September 2023 with a current fiscal year to date Fund 02 deficit balance (revenues received less expenditures incurred) of ($4,704).
      • Fund 04
        • As of September 30, 2023 the school has received in Fund 04 a total of $0 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 0% of its current budgeted amount.
        • As of September 30, 2023 the school has expended in Fund 04 $79 which is 0 of its current budgeted expense.
        • NS ended September 2023 with a current fiscal year to date Fund 04 deficit balance (revenues received less expenditures incurred) of ($79)
      • Overview:
        • NS had a total cash balance of $334,476 at the end of September 2023 reflected across all funds.
        • NS had a balance of ($130,057) in accounts receivable at September 30, 2023.
        • There was a balance of $27,588 in current liabilities for general accounts payable and payroll liabilities at September 30, 2023. A portion of the liability is for payroll withholdings on the last day of the month which are not paid until the first days of the next month, thus they are reflected on the current balance sheet.
        • State aid is being paid on 100 ADM or 100 Pupil Unit.
