    Mission: Nasha Shkola aspires to be a multi-cultural charter school committed to exceptional education in all areas of academic inquiry with an emphasis on Russian Language and Culture, providing structured and responsive learning environment based upon educational best practices for all students and their families.
    Vision: To be an academically rigorous school preparing students for continued success as motivated learners and global citizens.

    1. April 2024 Financial Report presented by Lisa Hasledalen
      • Fund 01
        • As of April 30, 2024 the school has received in Fund 01 a total of $1,147,305 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 70% of its current budgeted amount.
        • As of April 30, 2024 the school has expended in Fund 01 $1,318,249 which is 78% of its current budgeted expense.
      • Fund 02
        • As of April 30, 2024 the school has received in Fund 02 a total of $74,826 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 119% of its current budgeted amount.
        • As of April 30, 2024 the school has expended in Fund 02 $73,717 which is 117% of its current budgeted expense.
        • Nasha Shkola ended April 2024 with a current fiscal year to date Fund 02 positive balance (revenues received less expenditures incurred) of $1,109.
      • Fund 04
        • As of April 30, 2024 the school has received in Fund 04 a total of $795 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 68% of its current budgeted amount.
        • As of April 30, 2024 the school has expended in Fund 04 $768 which is 65% of its current budgeted expense.
        • Nasha Shkola ended April 2024 with a current fiscal year to date Fund 04 positive balance (revenues received less expenditures incurred) of $27.
    2. Revised Budget FY24 presented by Lisa Hasledalen
    3. Executive Director report – Yelena Hardcopf
      • May 31st is the last day of school.
      • Vendor contracts are being finalized.
      • Intent to Return survey has been completed – projected enrollment is 115 students.
      • Benchmarking assessments in grades K-3 have been completed and show great gains in student achievement.
      • MCA has been completed.
      • NWEA testing is underway and will be completed by the end of the school year.
      • Title grants are due on July 1st. The School Improvement Plan needs to be completed by the end of June.
      • The IQS meeting held in early May provided legislative updates.
      • Heritage Week activities will be held the last week of school.
      • The last day of school will be a half day with “field day” activities with parents and students.
      • A school-wide field trip the Minnesota Zoo will be held on Tuesday, May 28th.

    1. FY25 planning:
      • Enrollment Projections: 115 students
      • Budget planning:
        The FY25 school budget will be built on 100 students.
      • Staffing (need 1.0 FTO Elementary Teacher)
      • Vendors & Contractors (Renewed contracts: Designs for Learning, School Nurse, Technology support, Lofler)
      • School Meal Contract (bidding process will be completed in June, 2024)
    2. FY25 Academic programming:
      • Groves Literacy Partnership: 2nd year contract is signed.
      • Intermediate Reading Intervention for grade 4 (in FY25) delivered through GLP
      • FastBridge (Minnesota READ Act approved literacy screening tool for grades K–3)
      • IXL (new 3 year contract for reading and math)
      • Science from Scientists – second year contract is signed
      • TWILL Sports – pending contract for PE instruction

  8. New Business
    1. IOwA (Identified Official with Authority) designation for 24-25
      The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) requires that school districts annually designate an Identified Official with Authority to comply with the MNIT Enterprise Identity and Access Management Standard which states that all user access rights to Minnesota state systems must be reviewed and recertified at least annually. The Identified Official with Authority will assign job duties and authorize external user’s access to MDE secure systems for their local education agency (LEA). The Board recommends to authorize Yelena Hardcopf to act as the Identified Official with Authority (IOwA) and add name to act as the IOwA to add and remove names only for Nasha Shkola Charter school 4208-07
