Board of Directors Meeting Minutes: April 18, 2023

  3. Read the Nasha Shkola Mission and Vision
    Mission: Nasha Shkola aspires to be a multi-cultural charter school committed to exceptional education in all areas of academic inquiry with an emphasis on Russian Language and Culture, providing structured and responsive learning environment based upon educational best practices for all students and their families.
    Vision: To be an academically rigorous school preparing students for continued success as motivated learners and global citizens.

      1. Executive Director Report
        • ⅓ of the families completed“Intent to Return” survey
        • Grades 3 – 8 MCA assessment in Reading and Math, and 5 & 8 th gr Scince.
        • Grades 1 – 5 field trip to the Bell Museum
        • An in-house “Opera for the Young” was held on April 22nd. The school choir participated in this performance
        • A Special Education paraprofessional was interviewed and hired. Her start date is on April 24th.
        • Director Hardcopf attended the MN virtual Job Fair.
        • The director has reached out to “Teachers on Call” to help with staff recruitment.
        • The director held a preliminary meeting with middle school teachers to address potential teacher/staff shortage regarding next year’s programming.
      2. Financial Report – March 2023
        • Fund 01
          • As of March 31, 2023 the school has received in Fund 01 a total of $1,294,217 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 66% of its current budgeted amount.
          • As of March 31, 2023 the school has expended in Fund 01 $1,315,319 which is 69% of its current budgeted expense.
          • Nasha Shkola ended March 2023 with a current fiscal year to date Fund 01 deficit balance (revenues received less expenditures incurred) of ($21,102).
        • Fund 02
          • As of March 31, 2023 the school has received in Fund 02 a total of $12,687 of current Fiscal Year State, Federal, and Local revenues which is 19% of its current budgeted amount.
          • As of March 31, 2023 the school has expended in Fund 02 $40,885 which is 60% of its current budgeted expense.
          • Nasha Shkola ended March 2023 with a current fiscal year to date Fund 02 deficit balance (revenues received less expenditures incurred) of ($28,198).
        • Nasha Shkola Charter School had a total cash balance of $452,968 at the end of March 2023 reflected across all funds.
        • Nasha Shkola had a balance of $2,237 in accounts receivable at March 31st, 2023.
        • There was a balance of $41,758 in current liabilities for general accounts payable and payroll liabilities at March 31, 2023.
