I am happy to be coming to Nasha Shkola for a full year as the English language teacher. I joined Nasha last March of 2018. I have had a wonderful time connecting with students and teachers and I am excited to be a part of the team, enriching students’ lives in so many ways. I became a teacher because I love engaging in the learning and teaching process. I tell my students all of us are lifelong learners, I learn from them, and I hope to instill in them a love for learning so they can access their own interests and move themselves forward, becoming self-motivated to achieve their dreams.
I have two children, this year in kindergarten and 2nd grade, who I love learning with. We learn about science and nature, we spend our time outside in our yard or at all the great Minnesota trails and parks, and visit zoos. This summer we had a great time discovering the new Bell Museum of Natural History.
Education & Professional Training
I studied history, language, and art at the University of Minnesota. Then I went to get a Master’s Degree in history at the Luther Seminary. At those institutions, I studied ancient history and the origins of religions which lead me to study and live in Egypt. During my year in Egypt, I taught English and traveled to many countries. I have been teaching in Minnesota for 7 years. I studied at the University of St. Thomas for my Master’s Degree in Education. I have two Minnesota teaching licenses: Social Studies and English as a Second Language.
